Product Description
The Nitrogon NT06-E was designed and created with one single purpose, to cool the hottest CPUs in the world. To achieve this goal, the original Nitrogon NT01 was brought back onto the drawing board and modified with more than twice the surface area to significantly increase heat-absorbing performance. Careful planning and bending of the thick sintered powder heat pipes ensures that the NT06-E can fit on almost any motherboard and in most cases. With the NT06-evoluti… More >>

Works great. Relatively easy install. It is backplated designed so you have to remove your motherboard. I picked this heatsink because of it’s low profile and was high enough to clear all my MB heatsinks. No cheap plastic or nylon install parts and not push pin designed like intel stock fans. Comes with a small amount of thermal grease (which I used). Does not come with, but will accept a 120mm fan which I installed anyway just in case (Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D) facing away from the MB. (For the price a fan should have been included) I plugged the fan into the motherboard and I set the fan option in bios to “ignore” so that I didn’t get an error message whenever I booted up my computer. I guess a PWM fan would have come in handy but I didn’t find any that was as quiet (Low dba) as the Scythe S-Flex SFF221D. The heatsink is sturdy and not to heavy. The only difficulty was tightening one of the spring loaded thumb screws (My wife’s thin fingers came in real handy). I put it on an ASUS P5K-E motherboard over an E8400 (LGA 775 Core 2 Duo)CPU inside an Antec 300 midtower case with an Antec 500watt Earthwatts PS and 2 other 120mm Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D case fans . My CPU temps are now at 29C at start up and a max of 37C – 38C under mod. to heavy loads. It did not interfere with my RAM (2x2GB) or single PCIe Graphics Card full height. The directions could have been more helpful if the diagrams had been larger and easier to read. You almost needed a magnifying glass to read them. This heatsink has now made my case almost totally silent which is just what I wanted.
