  1. Purchased this mixer to replace a 10+ year old Kitchen Aid mixer. This mixer does a very nice job & overall I’m glad I purchased it. I gave it only 4 stars because of a potential safety issue – the second time I used this mixer I forgot to plug it in – I’d pushed the ON button & the speed button before I realized that it wasn’t plugged in & when I plugged it in the mixer immediately began to run (spattering cake batter everywhere!). I’m thankful that there weren’t any little grandchildren’s fingers reaching in the bowel to steal a taste of the batter when the mixer automatically started up! It seems to me that it would be much safer if the mixer automatically reset itself to OFF when it’s unplugged.

  2. The listing calls this a Cuisinart HM-70. According to Cuisiart this model includes a chefs whip and a spatula. Amazon however does not include the whip in the listing description but does sell the whip separately. Looks like they take the whip out to sell it separately but still use the HM-70 as the model number. Since Amazon is not user friendly for asking questions about a product, in fact they say they have no more information than what they present on the product page and ask the customer to check out the product on the web, well….. Cusinart’s web site says the HM-70 has a whip so Amazon must be ripping off the whip and selling it separately for $6.64.

  3. I bought this item from Amazon.com on June 28, 2009 and have only had it for less than 5 months and have probably only used it about 10 times. I am most unhappy with it because the beaters do not stay locked into the mixer. This is why I got rid of my old hand mixer, but that was after about 10 years of use. I’m going to see about returning it. The beaters fall out before you even get them into the bowl…one or the other slips out. This is ridiculous.

  4. considering the cache from the brand name I did expect better. Unfortunately I lost my old Sunbeam hand mixer from an era when a brand name meant something.. This one seems ok since I won’t use it much.. but the eject button is indeed flimsy.. and while all tarted up with all the whiz bang electronics, they interfere with the grip and overall the handle does not rest in the hand quite the way it should.

also the beaters on my old Sunbeam had some heft to them.. while these appear a bit anemic considering the price,,, OK for now and then use but over all quality of most everything we buy has slid downhill over the past decade… PRICE has been GOD too long at the expense of quality. Just because it beeps and blinks does not necessarily make it better.

  5. I’m very pleased with this hand mixer. I bought it because Cuisinart appeared to have the best reviews and it certainly lived up to my expectations. I’ve only used it once but my blueberry cheesecake was the best I’ve ever made. It came out perfect.
