Weber 7573 Premium Cover for Weber Spirit 200/300 Gas Grills

It is just a little large for our Spirit E310 grill. You have to pull the velcro straps pretty long to stay tight. Otherwise is is fine.

On the plus side, the cover looks like it would last years if the area your grill in wasn’t subject to strong winds. My last Weber cover lasted me two years. This last one lasted less than 6 months before it started tearing apart.
Now, granted not everyone has their grill on a balcony subject to the crazy winds coming off the lake in Chicago. Most people with anything on their balconies near the lake in Chicago have to use bungy cords to secure stuff — at least in my bldg anyway. But the last cover I bought had vents (mesh?) in the the lower parts of the cover so that the cover didn’t try to ‘take off’ as much when strong winds blew. I was always going out onto the balcony in strong winds and rain to re-cover the grill after the cover had half come off in the wind. So, weeks after getting it, the corners started tearing and coming apart at the seams. I just tossed mine today after letting it sit sadly for months
The thing was really shredded.
I’m a bit conflicted over whether to get another one. On the one hand, yes, the weather here is brutal on outdoor stuff. But, rather than spend $40 every 6-12 mths on another cover, I might as well save my money and spend it on the parts inside that will inevitably need to be replaced anyway. To be fair, the wind gusts 25-50 mph sometimes when it gets really freaky by the lake, but I wish the cover had vents or something to deal with the wind. Covers really have a tough time staying on in this kind of weather.

I purchased this Weber cover last July and within a couple of months a seam split. Apparently the manufacturer sewed the seam too close to the edge of the fabric and it didn’t have enough material left to hold the stitching. So I was forced to repair it with duct tape from the inside. The material is heavy and gives excellent protection as well as fitting the grill perfectly but now, less than six months later, another seam has split. This is simply another example of total lack of quality control by the Chinese manufacturer. When will I learn not to buy anything made in China?

I bought this to cover my Weber Spirit 500 2-burner gas grill. The 7573 is the newer upgraded cover that is made to fit a variety of Webers. It is a big large for the 500 (and most likely the Genesis Silver A) and not as “custom” as they used to be. The velco closure does help, but you must max it out only leaving about 1″ of velcro that actually attaches. I understand it is a way for Weber to save some money by making more of a “universal product”. As long as they keep up their quality on their grill components, I can live with a cover that’s a bit large!

Since it’s brand new there’s nothing I can comment on except that it fits our grill perfectly. It remains to be seen how this cover will hold up to the elements (sun, rain, humidity, wind and fog)over time. Hopefully it will last several years.
