What type of pvc to use for a sprinkler system?

I live in Fresno, CA the very coldest (and this is pretty rare) is about 26 degrees, now that being said heres the question. I would like to know how deep to bury pvc pipes for a sprinkler system and what type of pvc pipe to use regular 200 psi or the 480 psi sch 40? Is it necessary to use the sch 40? Thank you.

  1. No I do not believe that it should be necessary to use schedule 40 PVC because I do not believe that most sprinkler systems produce a high enough water pressure to require the higher water pressure rating of the schedule 40 PVC, so the regular 200 psi PVC should be sufficient enough for use with a lawn/yard water sprinkler system.
